About the evening:
Months ago I emailed a few people that had contact with Keith to see if they would ask Keith to personally sign a picture of Evan playing his keyboards. Well, about a month ago I received in the mail a large envelope from California and I had an idea of what it might be. Well I was right, I opened the envelope and there was a picture of Evan and with a note on it "Hi Evan, Prog On! Best Wishes Keith Emerson" That made Evan's day and week. I’m in deep gratitude of this un-named person. I then told Evan that I got tickets to see Keith at Moogfest and he jumped to the ceiling yelling "Yes, Yes, Yes" (I said wrong band we saw then last year, in return he said Daaaaad). Moogfest was great and it was great to be ten feet from Keith performing, a night to remember. New new arrangements were great. After the performance was over and we had to wait in line for the meet and greet. When we got to the table with Keith and the band, Keith was on the left next to Marc, Pete and Phil. So Evan gave Phil a picture of himself to sign and Phil said how did you get a picture like this? “Hey guys, look at this” Keith was still talking to someone else. Evan told them it was his synthesizer and they thought it was cool. By time Marc signed it, Keith looked at the picture and looked up and said "I remember you - I know you" and was very excited to see Evan. They talked for a few minutes and Evan was in heaven. A night that he will never forget neither will I. |
